A loan helped to buy raw materials and expand her hammock-weaving business.

Jeeranan's story

Jeeranan is a mother of four living in Northern Thailand. With children ranging from elementary to high school, her days are full, especially as her oldest child lives with a disability and requires close care.

For years, Jeeranan relied on difficult farm labor and irregular casual work to support her family. The work was physically demanding and often meant long hours away from home. Hammock weaving changed that. As an artisan weaver, she can now earn steady income while remaining at home with her children, particularly her eldest son.

Her weaving income helps cover household expenses and reduces the need to depend on unpredictable farm wages. The flexibility and reliability have made a meaningful difference in her family’s stability.

With this loan, Jeeranan will invest in yarn and materials to ensure consistent work throughout the year and continue building a secure future.

This loan is special because:

It creates employment opportunities for vulnerable populations living in remote rural areas.
