A loan helped to add stock to the business.

Alice's story

Meet Alice, who is a refugee mother of seven, all in school and living with her in Yumbe, in the West Nile region of Uganda. She's so determined to make her life better, she's left the past behind.

She has a shop that sells a variety of goods, and she has many customers, though she's not able to sell them as much as she'd like due to limited stock.

The shop is slowly expanding, and she now understands the business much better unlike in the past were she could stock products that could delay in being sold.

Through this, she provides for some basic needs for her family, though she is not able to give them all that they need, and she still looks forward to her business growing more and more.

The business is doing well, though she hasn't yet reached where she'd like to see her business. She'd like to add more stock so she can sell more and pay school fees. Her dream is to buy land and build a permanent house.

To be where she is today, she attributes everything to the wonderful support of VisionFund and Kiva. She is forever grateful.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
