A loan helped to acquire a motorcycle that optimizes the transportation of her lemon harvest from her farm to the point of sale.

Yaqueline's story

Yaqueline, a hardworking farmer from Patía, Cauca, has 28 years of experience. She owns a one-hectare farm with 500 lemon trees at different stages of production, which she cares for regularly to ensure a stable harvest. Her crops produce around half a ton of fruit, which she sells at the local market, transporting the harvest on an old tricycle. However, while the tricycle enables her to transport the produce, the condition of the vehicle limits the load per trip and makes deliveries less agile and efficient.

Yaqueline lives with her two children in a house she built several years ago. Her children attend the local school and help her with some simple household tasks, providing important support in her daily life.

A loan of 3,996,331 COP allows Yaqueline to purchase a motorcycle to efficiently transport her harvest. This investment improves the transfer her lemons to the local market, reduces time and physical effort, facilitates access to new points of sale, and contributes to more efficient commercialization of her farm.
