A loan helped to purchase more dried fish to sell.

Tenneh's story

Tenneh is 43 years old, and she is from Liberia. She is married and has five children; they are currently in school and live at home.

Tenneh is a hardworking businesswoman who sells dried fish. She had been operating her sales for several years. She learned how to sell from her mother. She works Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site.

Tenneh applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner. With this loan, she will purchase more dried fish to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it sends her children to school. She wants to build a house in the future. Tenneh wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
