A loan helped to purchase more ingredients that will be used to prepare cooked food to sell.

Vero's story

This is Vero, a 46-year-old entrepreneur from Liberia. She is a single mother with three children, two of whom are still in school and all live at home. Vero specializes in selling cooked food. She has been operating her business for seven years. She learned how to sell from her mother and started the business with her own savings. She has no problem with her sales. She sells Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport her supplies.

Vero applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. The loan will be used to purchase more ingredients that will be used to prepare cooked food to sell to good clients. She likes her business because it sends her children to school. Her dream for the future is to own a bigger business. Vero wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
