A loan helped to buy more ingredients for her food products.

Blessing's story

Blessing is 34 years old and a single mother with one child, age 13, who lives at home and attends school.

Blessing is a high school graduate. She mainly sells cooked food. She started this business because she wanted to create another income to help support her family. She started it with her own savings and learned how to sell from her mother. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and sells them Monday through Saturday.

To increase her business, Blessing applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner. This loan will help her to buy more ingredients that will be used to cook food to sell. She likes her business because it gives her profits.

Blessing's dream for the future is to own a restaurant. She wishes to say thanks to BRAC and Kiva.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
