A loan helped to buy canvas fabric, threads, and two industrial machines.

Yoselin Francisca Anabella's story

Turning creativity and skills into a profitable business is the path that many women entrepreneurs have chosen to strengthen their families and generate opportunities for growth.

This is the story of Yoselin, 27, a mother of two children who are 10 months and 2 and a half years old. She is applying for an individual Kiva loan to grow her business.

She completed her education, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in computer science and her husband works as a tailor. For four years, Yoselin has been making canvas pants for men from her home. With the support of her husband and two workers, she produces around four hundred units a week.

With the Kiva loan, she plans to buy canvas fabrics, two industrial machines, and yarns in bulk. Her goal is to continue increasing production, formalize the business, and have her own premises to sell her products.

She lives in the Department/state of Totonicapán, a speaker of Spanish and Maya K'iche'. Thanks to the "Puente Al éxito" program, she will receive customized technical training from a business developer. Topics such as good business management, inventory preparation and good customer service are topics that will surely help Yoselin in managing her business.

With Kiva's support, this entrepreneur can consolidate her business, generate more income, and ensure a more stable future for her family.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Liliana S.
