A loan helped a member to buy staple food products, drinks and footwear.

Las Guerreras De Fe Group's story

Delia is a 30 year old woman. She is separated and the mother of three lovely children aged from four to ten years old. She completed her secondary schooling and wants her children to study in kindergarten, primary school and through to university education. Seven years ago Delia decided to open a convenience store in the community she lives in. Seeing that her customers constantly requested running shoes she decided to open a second business selling footwear. Delia is very pleased as her business is expanding, selling in her community and outside it. She will use this first loan from Kiva to invest in both businesses buying a variety of stable food products, drinks and footwear.

Joining Friendship Bridge's communal bank “Las Guerreras de Fe” was fundamental for Delia, who also acts as president. Seven women make up this group. They are Mayan K’iche speakers and live in the department/state of Totonicapán. The women have businesses like: convenience stores, making textiles, selling plastics and footwear. Their main dream is to have fruitful businesses. These women really appreciate having monthly meetings that cover four essential subjects: health, family, women and business. They normally share what they learn with acquaintances and friends.

Thanks you for getting to know these women and financing their loans.

In this group: Delia Lucia, Lesly Sucely , Maria Elena , Andrea Elizabeth, Maria Magdalena, Norma Alicia , Balvina Francisca
