A loan helped to buy agricultural products, tools, and to pay for manual labor, amongst other needs, in order to maintain 1.40 hectares of cacao crops.

Luis Enrique's story

Luis Enrique is a cacao producer who is 51 years old with a lot of experience growing and harvesting in the field. He has a farm that falls under the Rainforest Alliance Certification made up of 31.69 hectares, of which 1.40 hectares are used for cacao production.  Besides growing cacao, he also grows basic grains. His wife and children live on the farm. He is asking for a loan in order to buy agricultural products, tools, and to pay for manual labor, amongst other needs, in order to maintain his cacao crops. This will mean that his plants will receive the nutrients that they need and he will obtain a higher quality yield. During harvest season, he generates work for people in his community. This is his second loan with Kiva's field partner PACSA.
