A loan helped a Maryland based, woman-owned ice vending machine startup install a machine, advertise, and launch!

Jennifer's story

I am a mom, an entrepreneur, an artist, and a community advocate. My journey began in 2004 when I started Philly FITBRIDES, a niche business helping brides get in shape for their weddings. Although it was a successful model, I lacked the experience and team to scale it. I also owned and operated a gym, which I eventually sold, realizing that I am a project-focused person who craves meaningful work.

Over the years, I’ve worked at nonprofits, establishing efficient donation systems, and I’ve spent over 20 years creating and selling my artwork online and at Art & Craft Shows. I recently moved to Havre de Grace, MD, a town I’ve loved since I grew up visiting my grandfather here. I love this community and have made it my home - renovating a duplex, running a successful Airbnb, and participating on city commissions. Last year, I launched Recycling Maker’s Class for Kids, an initiative I plan to scale.

My latest venture, Ice Princess Ice and Water, LLC, was born from a simple need—reliable, clean ice and water. After witnessing the town’s ice shortage over the 4th of July weekend, I decided to invest in an Everest Summit Ice and Water vending machine to be placed at a high-traffic location on Pulaski Highway. My goal is to expand across the RT 40 corridor.

As Ice Princess grows, I intend to use the business to fund and develop the Recycling Maker’s Class program and to make it accessible to youth organizations in Harford County and beyond.
