A loan helped a member to purchase a variety of fruit.

Las Cruces Group's story

Selling fruit is not just a business, but a way to generate income, provide well-being, and boost the household finances. Brenda, age twenty-seven, has turned this work into her path to success. She is married and is the mother of two children, aged seven and twelve, who are in first and third grade. She only completed five years of education, as she decided not to continue studying. Her husband works as a day laborer.

Brenda has been selling prepared and whole fruits from a stand in front of her house for seven years. She is known for combining hard work and creativity to keep her business going. She is now applying for a loan to purchase a variety of fruit.

Brenda's goal is to continue growing, strengthen her business, and start a new traditional clothing business. She is proving that with perseverance and vision, new opportunities can be reached.

There are seven Spanish-speaking women who are members of the Las Cruces Friendship Bridge Communal Bank. They live in the Department/State of Suchitepéquez. They sell jewelry, fruit, coffee beans, lemons, and avocados.

Monthly educational training, which is part of the Microcredit Plus program, covers relevant topics related to health, business management, and the dangers of excessive debt. Family and women's issues are also addressed.

Thank you!
