Jackie's story

I, "Jackie", am a veteran in the hospitality industry with over 25 years of experience. Born and raised in St. Ann Jamaica, I have always had an entrepreneurship spirit from a young age. I started my first business at the age of 24, offering natural juices to a few restaurants while working at the hotel full-time and furthering my studies. After gaining some management experience as a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager, I then decided to start a catering business while working as a manager. Over the years I have come to adore the event/restaurant and catering industry.

After completing my studies, I decided to study Wedding & Event planning, after which I completed a course in Gourmet Cooking and Catering Management. My desire was to gain as much knowledge in the hospitality industry, so I could be a well-rounded entrepreneur in the future. As the years pass by, living in Vermont, I am always looking for the opportunity to show off my skills and professionalism. Expanding my catering business to a restaurant is the perfect opportunity to do so.

Though my skills are unique in the State of Vermont, I believe my restaurant will make a positive impact by providing a taste of home and by hosting and teaching cooking classes for students who want to learn how to cook Jamaican food.
