A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizers that will improve the health and fertility of his crops.

Elisardo's story

Elisardo is an indigenous farmer from Caldono, Cauca, with 40 years of experience. He owns a one-hectare farm assigned to him by the indigenous council. There, he has planted more than 6,000 coffee plants alongside 230 banana trees that provide natural shade and protection to the crops, fostering a balanced ecosystem. Elisardo fertilizes his crops with inputs made from medicinal plant extracts and organic materials, promoting soil health and the natural resistance of his crops against pests and diseases.

Elisardo lives with his wife and son in a house they built together. His wife is also a farmer and a crucial support in daily tasks, helping with the care and management of the crops.

A loan of 1,539,476 COP allows Elisardo to purchase organic fertilizers that will strengthen his crops and improve the quality of his coffee and bananas. This investment contributes to maintaining a healthy ecosystem and sustainable production in the long term.
