A loan helped a member to buy new tires for his bush taxi vehicle.

Gilbert's story

Gilbert is 81 years old. A widower and father of two grown children, he is determined to maintain his financial independence.

As a pensioner, he supplements his income by employing a driver to operate his vehicle as a regional bush taxi. He also practices farming, selling part of his harvest and keeping the rest for personal consumption.

To maintain his vehicle, Gilbert has received several successive loans from Vahatra. Thanks to the income from the taxi rental, he has been able to save regularly.

Today, he is requesting a new loan through Kiva to buy new tires. This investment will help improve the quality of service of his bush taxi and ensure greater safety for his passengers.

He hopes for the continued support of lenders to keep moving forward.
