A loan helped an all-natural pet treat company expand production & distribution!

Amanda's story

--A Passion for Pups and a Homemade Solution--

My passion for dogs has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. This lifelong love has truly taken me on an incredible journey, from creating homemade treats in my kitchen to building my dream job with DogGurt.

DogGurt was born in 2012 out of a simple, personal need: I couldn't find a frozen, healthy treat for my beloved furry family members, Jack and Bella, my two rescue Dalmatian mixes. They deserved a cool, refreshing treat that I could genuinely feel good about giving them. I was frustrated to discover that the only options on the market at the time were loaded with unfamiliar, unpronounceable ingredients, artificial fillers, and preservatives. I knew I could do better. I was determined to create an all-natural, human-grade frozen treat that pet parents could give their dogs with complete confidence, knowing exactly what they were feeding them.

So, I mixed up a test batch using human-grade ingredients – much smaller than what I'm making now, of course! Jack and Bella devoured it. When I posted about it on social media, I quickly realized there was a significant interest and a real need for wholesome frozen treats. That's when I knew I could turn my passion into a business, and DogGurt was officially born!

I truly believe my passion for dogs shines through in every single product I make. I am meticulous about using only the highest quality ingredients. A couple of years ago, when I briefly switched the brand of yogurt I was using, I even received an email from a customer asking if something had changed because her dog wouldn't eat it! That immediate feedback reaffirmed my commitment to consistency and quality, and I've used the same trusted, high-quality ingredients ever since.
