A loan helped to buy household items like basins, bowls, plates, cups, and buckets for her store to meet customer demand.

Centrine's story

Centrine is an entrepreneur who knows how to dish out business success, one spoon and plate at a time. Married and a mother, Centrine runs a vibrant retail shop selling household essentials like bowls, spoons, plates, and cups. Her husband works as a mechanic, and together, they support their children and extended family whenever the need arises. She enjoys running her business because it provides a steady income and keeps her actively engaged in supporting her family's needs.

Centrine is seeking support to increase her stock of household items like basins, bowls, plates, cups, and buckets and meet the increasing demand for her goods. With this restock, she hopes to attract more customers and grow her profits. One of her biggest challenges has been the tough economy, which makes it difficult to replenish her inventory consistently. The profits from her business go toward paying bills and sustaining her household. Centrine is proud that her shop offers convenience to locals, saving them time and transport costs by providing everyday items nearby.

Having previously benefited from a loan from ECLOF Kenya, Kiva's field partner, Centrine has seen firsthand how financing can lift a family's living standards. She dreams of expanding into a larger retail space and is grateful to lenders whose support keeps her business stocked and thriving.
