A loan helped to buy more stock of perfumes for her business.

Nsenga's story

Nsenga arrived in Uganda in 2015, carrying little but hope after fleeing political turmoil in Congo. Alone and single at 47, she found solace in the scents of home—bottled memories she began selling as perfumes in the bustling markets of her community. For two years, her small stall became her sanctuary, each sale a step toward rebuilding her life. Yet, demand grew faster than her means. She dreamed of expanding, of filling her shelves with more fragrances by purchasing additional perfumes to meet the growing customer needs, of turning her business into a beacon of stability.

A loan would be more than money; it would be her chance to transform struggle into success by enabling her to buy more stock, to lift herself into financial inclusion, and to create a future where her resilience shines. Nsenga’s story is one of courage, perseverance, and the belief that even far from home, new beginnings can blossom with a little help.
