A loan helped to buy more sewing materials for her sales.

Rabi̇a's story

Rabia was born in 1990 into a modest family—her mother a homemaker, her father self-employed. She is one of two siblings and learned the value of hard work early in life.

From a young age, Rabia worked in textile workshops, gaining hands-on experience in weaving and fabric work. After getting married and becoming a mother, life took a difficult turn when she had to separate from her husband.

With a young child to care for, Rabia chose to work from home, using her sewing and embroidery skills to provide for her family.

Today, Rabia earns her living by producing and selling handmade textile products. With support from Kiva, she plans to purchase more fabric and continue her production from home—allowing her to increase her output, grow her income, and provide stability for her and her child.

Rabia’s story is one of quiet resilience—a woman turning hardship into opportunity with skill, care, and determination.
