A loan helped helps 90,000 women to access financial products and services that adapt to their needs and circumstances.

Monet's story

Across Colombia, millions of women remain financially underserved, unable to access the tools they need to manage day-to-day expenses, invest in their goals, or build financial resilience. Monet, a social fintech company, is working to close that gap.

Monet offers short-term microloans to individuals and micro-enterprises, using a transparent, fixed-fee model instead of traditional interest rates. With over 609,000 active users and more than 1.4 million loans disbursed, Monet is creating a more inclusive financial system—one that works for everyday people.

This loan will support Monet’s “Yo Soy Mujer” initiative, which is designed specifically for women. The program aims to reach 90,000 women with financial products and services that adapt to their unique needs and circumstances—whether it’s covering a school expense, managing cash flow, or supporting a small business.

By lending to Monet, Kiva lenders will directly contribute to greater economic empowerment for women across Colombia—unlocking opportunities, strengthening families, and fueling long-term progress.

This loan is special because:

It enables Colombian clients to gain access to micro-loans.
