A loan helped to buy fish, shrimp, conchs and other foodstuffs for her prepared foods business.

Karelys Annabel's story

Karelys Annabel is 38 years old and in a common-law marriage. She has two children ages 18 and 13 who are in school. Her husband is a master mason. They live in a house that has been loaned to them by a brother-in-law. They live in Montecristi, a beautiful area with industrious and friendly people who follow ancestral traditions and who are highly skilled with their hands and make crafts with toquilla straw, wicker, piquigua fiber and wood. They specialize in making fine straw hats from toquilla straw which are renowned within the country and abroad.

Karelys Annabel is an excellent mother who, in order to give the best to her children, works at home preparing and selling foods on Saturdays and Sundays. The most requested are the flag trays (ceviche, cazuela [stew made in a clay pot], rice, conchs, shrimp), fish and shrimp ceviche and a variety of lunches. She sells them in the morning and her husband is the one in charge of home deliveries. She is grateful to all the people who help them with the loans. With them she can give her family a good life.

She will use this loan to buy fish, shrimp, conchs and other foodstuffs.

She hopes to make many sales, to have her own house and for her family to be very healthy.
