A loan helped to access quality farm inputs and services.

Adda'u's story

Adda'U is 32 years of age and lives with his family in an ordinary mud house in a small village in Kaduna state. In his community, farming is the primary occupation and like many diligent small-holder farmers, Adda'U dreams of expanding his farm business.

Due to a lack of access to quality inputs, it has become difficult for farmers like Adda'U to achieve high yields to make a higher income. Luckily, as a Babban Gona member, Adda'U will get a loan to purchase higher-yielding seeds that are locally adapted. He will also have the recommended pesticides and fertilizers based on the results of his field assessment.

This will enable him to optimize his yield thereby attaining yields of up to 2 times the national average in Nigeria. With lenders’ support to grow his farming business, Adda'U is looking forward to a bountiful harvest. He plans to use the profits from this season’s harvest to buy more nutritious foods.

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers and helps them increase yields.
