Rehema's story

Rehema is 46 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has five children with two of them currently in school.

For the past 22 years, Rehema has been working hard to manage her business, which sells water and snacks. The loan will be used to buy more water and snacks for resale, and will help Rehema generate greater profits and improve her standards of living. Rehema hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business.

She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
