A loan helped to buy more pepper, salt, and onions to sell.

Zoe's story

Zoe is a 40-year-old businesswoman. She is a single mother with five children, four of whom are currently in school. Zoe is a hardworking businesswoman who sells pepper, salt and onions. Twelve years ago, she began operating her sales. She started the business with her own savings. She sells Monday through Saturday and uses a motorcycle to transport her supplies.

Zoe applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. With this loan, she will buy more pepper, salt, and onions to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it gives her money daily. She wants to continue her children’s education in the future. Zoe wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
