Abdel Moneim is 43, is married, and has 4 kids in different levels of education, he lives in a poor village in Upper Egypt. His wife is a housewife.

He has a small restaurant selling foul (mashed fava beans) and falafel. His delicious food and friendly service made his place popular and more customers came every day. However, his tiny shop couldn’t handle the growing demand—he needed more space, new equipment, and extra staff.

To expand, he asked for a loan from Kiva. With this loan he can upgrade his kitchen, add more tables, and serve more customers. With the loan he will improve his restaurant, expand his menu, and attracted even more customers.
