A loan helped to buy more slippers to sell.

Caroline's story

Caroline is a 27-year-old businesswoman. She is married and has four children; they live at home while attending school. Caroline went to school up to 11th grade.

She is a strong businesswoman who sells slippers. Seven years ago, she began operating her sales. She learned how to sell from her mother and started the business with her own savings. She sells Monday through Saturday and spends 10 hours at her business site. She uses a car to transport her supplies.

Caroline applied for a loan through Brac Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. With this loan, she will buy more slippers to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it sustains her family. She wants to build a house and continue sending her children to school in the future. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
