A loan helped a member to buy some pagnes.

Danaya 2 Group's story

Niele is a hard-working woman who lives in Mali. She is a 57-year-old widow. She is the person holding onto the pagnes (colourful and decorative West African cloth) in the photo. She sells them at the local market.

She lives with her 2 children who both attend school and is very well-respected in her local area.

She has been selling pagnes for 16 years. She wants to develop her business and has requested a loan from the microfinance organisation. She buys her merchandise (pagnes, soap, bags, cereals etc.) at the markets in town and resells it at the local market. Thanks to her business, she has been able to compensate for the loss of her husband and take care of her family and her children.

In the future, she would like to keep going with her business and improve it further so that she can cover the expenses of her family and her children.
