Hidayia's story

Hidayia is 47 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has two children with one of them currently in school.

For the past seven years, Hidayia has been working hard to manage her juice business selling juice. To help expand her business, Hidayia has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy juice ingredients and raw materials, and will help Hidayia to generate greater profits and business growth and improvements in profits. Hidayia hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business.

Hidayia is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MFI). The program primarily serves small group members like Hidayia who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for micro-loans.
