A loan helped buy items both for the shop and restaurant.

Caroline's story

Caroline is 44 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, with none of them currently in school. For the past 15 years, Caroline has been working hard to manage her restaurant and retail shop.

To help expand her business, Caroline has requested a loan of 3,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy items both for the shop and restaurant, and will help Caroline to generate greater profits and increase the family's disposable income and standard of living.

Caroline hopes that in the future she will be able to expand the business.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Uganda.
