A loan helped a stay-home dad furnish, equip, and personalize a new taekwondo training space.

Kiba's story

I spent the first half of my life growing and learning in Chicago. I moved to Stevens Point, WI in 2009 to pursue higher education. Over the last 15 years, I've accomplished many things, including: earning my Bachelor of Fine Art, building connections within my community through volunteer work, managing retail stores, and exploring beyond the US. While doing these things, and more, I developed and thrived in three main pillars of my life: art, family, and Taekwondo.

I have a beautiful family consisting of my wife (Jenna) and our two kids (Soraiya and Kai). They are my world, and I want to continue to show them that we do things, even if they seem hard or scary. Things like being a stay-at-home dad, traveling the world competing in taekwondo sparring competitions, building an amazing mural/art business, and now leading a community of martial arts students. I continue to face challenges head-on, learning new lessons to eventually teach along the way.

In everything that I pursue, the lofty goal I keep in mind is to be the positive male role model I wanted growing up.
