A loan helped to buy more chicks, feeders, and drinkers.

Rehem's story

Rehem is 51 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Kiyinda Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 12 children, four currently in school.

For the past 5 years, Rehem has worked hard to manage her poultry farm, which provides eggs and chickens. To help expand her business, Rehem has requested a loan of 1,200,000.00 UGX from BRAC Uganda to buy more chicks, feeders, and drinkers. These purchases will help her generate greater profits and increase the supply of chickens. Rehem hopes that she will also be able to buy more land in the future.

Rehem is a BRAC’s microfinance program member. The program primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
