A loan helped to buy more soft drinks to sell.

Suzan's story

Suzan is 54 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Njeru region of Uganda. She is married and has three children who are all currently in school. For the past 11 years, Suzan has been working hard to manage her soft drinks business, which sells soda, juice and water.

To help expand her business, Suzan has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more soft drinks to sell, and will help Suzan to generate greater profits. She will be able to expand her business and educate her children.

Suzan hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rentals. She is a member of BRAC's Microfinance Program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
