Bendu's story

Meet 49-year-old Bendu. She lives with her partner along with three children. They are presently in school and live at home.

Bendu is a hardworking businesswoman who sells rice, red oil, pepper, Vita, onions and other food items. She started the business with very small skills, and she is proud of the process. She has managed her sales for 10 years. She works Monday through Saturday and spends 15 hours at her business site. She uses a car to transport her supplies and has no problem with her sales.

With this loan, Bendu will buy more rice, red oil, pepper, Vita, onions and other food items to sell.

She likes her business because it makes her an independent woman, and she is proud of her business because it takes care of her family. She wants to build a house and continue her children’s education.

Bendu is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
