A loan helped to buy more goats.

Juliet's story

Juliet is 57 years old and lives in the town of Matugga in the Matugga region of Uganda. She is married and has six children, with one of them currently in school.

For the past 25 years, Juliet has been working hard to manage her animal-rearing business, where she sells goats and goat meat.

To help expand her business, Juliet has requested a loan of 1,200,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more goats, and will help Juliet to generate greater profits. This will expand her business and improve her standard of living.

Juliet hopes that in the future she will be able to expand.

She is a member of BRAC's Microfinance Program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members, like Juliet, who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
