This isn't the first season Stella is working alongside One Acre Fund. She's been a member since 2019 and represents her group of seven farmers in Misikhu Duka Zone District, Kenya.
She's often described by her community as very friendly and became the one to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. Like many of her fellow farmers, Stella became part of the One Acre Fund community to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods and hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to send her children to school.
This loan will help not only Stella, but the enture group, which will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5¼ acres of land. Some of the farmers will also be purchasing a solar light; with this loan, the group will receive a total of four solar lights.
