A loan helped to buy rolls of weaving thread, 20 kg of dyes and to save for her children's education.

Marceline's story

Marceline has four children, three of whom go to school. She is a weaver and has been weaving traditional quality pagne [fabric used for clothing] at her home in an outlying district of the capital for over 10 years. She is on her seventh loan with the Yikri MFI [microfinance organisation] and is applying for a new loan to buy rolls of weaving thread and 20 kg of dyes to weave many traditional pagnes to meet the demand from her customers. She plans to use the proceeds to reinvest in her business and save for her children's education.
