A loan helped to purchase more ingredients for making soap to increase her business.

Hawa's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 39-year-old Hawa from Lunsar Branch. She is a married businesswoman with four children between the ages of 9 and 19 years old. Three are currently attending school. She started this business to manage her home.

Hawa runs a retail business and sells soap to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past five years. Hawa says that her challenge is the increase in prices of the ingredients for making soap.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more ingredients for making soap to increase her business. Hawa says that the extra income from this loan will help to give her children good education.

In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
