Ma. Airene's story

Ma. Airene owns and manages a sari-sari (variety) store for a long period of time now. She sells commodities ranging from rice, noodles, canned goods, soft drinks, sugar, eggs, and soap to beverages. She is a married woman with two children. Her husband works as a broker and a pensioner, respectively.

She joined CEVI (a microfinance NGO) from the Philippines to cope with the increase on the prices on basic goods. A loan of 35,000 PHP will be used to buy soft drinks, liquor, rice and toiletries.

It will help her continue to boost her current business and eventually open up a bigger store in the future.
