A loan helped to buy construction materials and pay wages for some laborers to build a hygienic toilet.

Duyên's story

Mrs. Duyên, a 34 year-old woman, resides in the remote mountains of Ngoc Lac district in Vietnam. She belongs to an ethnic minority and leads a modest life with her husband and their two children, aged 10 and five, who both attend school. The household primary income stems from her husband's work as a construction worker and her occasional freelance labor, which barely sustains their livelihood.

Living conditions for the family are challenging, compounded by the deteriorating state of their sanitation facilities. Despite their desire for a better life, financial constraints have prevented them from repairing or replacing their dilapidated restroom.
Determined to improve their living conditions, she decided to ask for this first loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to procure construction materials and hire skilled laborers to rebuild their restroom. This decision marked the beginning of a journey toward enhancing their quality of life.

This loan is special because:

It supports women from ethnic communities and single parent families.
