A loan helped to buy a variety of grocery items to increase her profit margin.

Millicent Odoom's story

Millicent Odoom is a 24-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents in the Accra district in Ghana. She sells groceries. With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her business. She used the profit she earned to support her family's daily needs.

Millicent Odoom is requesting another loan to buy a variety of grocery items to increase her profit margin. She plans to use the profit she earns to invest into her business.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
