A loan helped a member to buy a cow.

Pa Khoang 118 Group's story

The ethnic minority woman wearing a red scarf is Thoi. She is a farmer living in a rural village in a border province in northwest Vietnam. To earn a living, she does many agricultural activities such as cultivating rice, cassava and breeding poultry and cows. Her children are of school-age, so she hopes her children can attend college eventually for a better future, as she had to stop studying at the secondary level due to poverty.

Therefore, she wants to increase her income by buying one more cow to expand her business. That is the reason why she took this loan. Cows have less disease and are not too hard to raise, while she can use the grass from her field to feed the cows to save on cost.

She will use the profit from this investment to cover tuition fees for her children, and the rest to invest in raising cows.

Thank you Kiva lenders for this great support.
