A loan helped a member to buy beans and potatoes.

Kazi Ni Mali Group's story

Marceline is a customer of the MFI Hekima and the leader of the 'Kazi ni Mali' village group. She is married, 52 years old and has 10 children who all attend school. Her partner is a civil servant.

She sells food. She started her business 15 years ago with start-up funds she received from her husband. Later, she joined the Hekima program to support her business and has been progressing steadily since.

She will use the new loan to buy beans and potatoes. Her main business challenge is a lack of customers.

She would like to see her children continue with their education and to be able to feed her family.

Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they are giving to owners of non-bankable businesses during the covid-19 pandemic.

Note: due to social distancing measures, only the group leader is pictured.
