06_Keur Bassine 1 And Nekk Benn Group's story

This group is made up of 21 women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual aid. They live in the same village and seized the opportunity to join the "banc villageois" when it was started in the area in November 2019. Their primary business is fattening animals and retail sales.

Aissatou, (standing on the far right of the photo with her hand raised), is the group representative. She is 33 years old. She is married and the mother of three children, one of whom is a girl. She fattens animals. She enjoys experience in this business having done it for more than a decade.

With this loan she envisions buying some sheep and some animal feed; which she is going to fatten for at least five months and then resell. With the profits, she plans to build up her savings, develop her activities and help her husband with daily expenses.

In this group: Khadidiatou, Faty, Bity, Yakham, Khoudia, Aissatou, Astou, Awa, Amy, Ndeye, Coumba, Faty, Absa, Yama, Soda, Ngoss, Awa, Khoudia, Thiane, Faty, Rokhaya
