A loan helped a woman-owned Dominican restaurant continue to grow and thrive.

Colleen's story

Growing up in a large Dominican family of 28 aunts and uncles, food was the thing that always brought us together. It was always the dream for a member of the family to open a restaurant, in order to showcase the rich and authentic flavors of our ancestral homeland. My mother, who was the first of the family to immigrate to the United States from the Dominican Republic, instilled in me the belief to never to give up on your dreams, and that anything is possible as long as you work hard for it.

I have pursued her dream and obtained a degree in business and marketing in order to have the knowledge to one day open a business of my own.
