A loan helped to buy more oil, vita, onions, peppers and rice to sell.

Siah's story

This is 55-year-old Siah, from Liberia. She is widow and has eight children.

Siah is a businesswoman who sells oil, vita, onions, peppers and rice. She learned how to sell from her mother and has been running her sales for 10 years. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site.

Siah requires a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, in order to buy more oil, vita, onions, peppers and rice to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it helps to support her family. She wants to build a shop in the future.

Siah wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
