A loan helped to support a Burundian refugee to rent a bigger and more attractive space for his silver jewelry business.


Omar's story

Meet Omar, an enterprising and skilled Burundian refugee, He arrived in Rwanda in 2016 with his wife and 2 kids.

Displaced from his homeland, he found refuge in one of Rwanda's cities, where he established a small but thriving jewelry business in 2019. Omar's jewelry shop captivates passersby with its display of exquisite silver pieces that he crafts himself with the help of his wife and it quickly gained a large customer base.

Omar attended the Inkomoko business development program which enhanced his business skills and motivated him to take a further step in business.

He is requesting a loan to rent a bigger space to relocate his business and make the shop look more attractive for his clients by adding mirrors and jewelry holders. Omar is convinced that this step will make him reach a larger audience.
