A loan helped to buy dry food to sell.

Zumura's story

Meet Zumura, a refugee mother to 4 children who all are school-going and stay with her in Moyo, which is in the West Nile region of Uganda.

To this mother, life has not been a bed of roses. At a certain time she almost gave up hope in Life, but she choose to instead work hard and not give up.

She is a farmer who grows cassava, millet, sorghum, maize and beans. Besides the farming, she also has a small home stall that sells mainly food stuff.

The demand for food is really very high in the community where she lives, though she is limited to sell as much as she would like due to lack of stock.

Zumura would like to buy dry food to sell so that she is able to boost her sales to pay school fees. Her dream is to expand her business and have a stall in the market.

She is very grateful for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva has given her to be a better person.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
