A loan helped to buy mulberry and pandanus for weaving and making tapas.

Holeva's story

Holeva is a young mother of six. Her husband is still away due to seasonal work, so she lives alone with their children.

Currently, Holeva runs a weaving and tapa-making business. Once every week, she joins a group of ten women to make tapas. The same group spends time weaving together. They make different types and sizes of tapas and woven items. Different taovala and mats are woven and sold.
Most of Holeva's tapas and woven items are exported to her sisters, who reside overseas and sell them at good prices.

Holeva believes that her business can improve her family's quality of life. She will repay her loan without fail.
