A loan helped to buy cattle.

Zakayo's story

Zakayo is a refugee father to seven children who are all in school. He and his family live in Yumbe, in the West Nile Region of Uganda.

He says that without hard work, life can be very difficult. He is a farmer who grows millet, sorghum, maize, beans and sweet potatoes. Zakayo also rears goats and cattle, and sells some milk and food from the garden. Through these efforts, he provides for some of his family's basic needs, though he is not able to give them as much as he would love to provide.

He would like to buy more cattle so that he is able to increase his sales of milk and ghee. He will also be able to pay school fees and offer his family a better life.

Today he is a better person because of the amazing support of VisionFund and Kiva.

This loan is special because:
