Chisomo Group's story

Blessings is a 53 years old man married with five children, four of which are in school. He is a maize farmer and he has been doing maize farming for the past 25 years. Though he is a hardworking man, his business is being challenged by a lack of access to financing to acquire irrigation equipment and farm inputs.

Blessings is a leader of the Chisomo group and in the picture he is standing to the right side dressed in a black jacket with a hand raised up. He joined FIFAD program to have access to solar-powered surface irrigation equipment and have access to markets. The solar irrigation pump will help him harvest three times a year and this will enable him to be a reliable producer to all his customers. He intends to build a big shop for his produce with the profits from the business. He also plans to educate his children who are in school.
