A loan helped an immigrant woman-owned food business buy equipment to produce products that can be sold at supermarkets.

Hoda's story

I am a creative and passionate single mom, originally from Iran, who had two locations of Baran's Cafe in Houston. Unfortunately, I was burned at my first cafe in a kitchen accident and ended up having skin graft surgery. I had to close my first location due to my surgery. 8 months later, I lost my second location due to the Covid 19 situation. I lost both of my cafes in about a few months, but nothing stopped me from my plan of re starting my business.

This time, I have a better plan. I am trying to restart my business by producing prepared fresh and frozen meals to sell at supermarkets. I believe in myself and my passion, and I know I can be a successful business woman and a mom at the same time. I am seeking funding to buy the needed equipment to launch the business. What I have in my mind is not even in supermarkets yet. Based on my previous experience, I believe my products would be in high demand. I still have a lot of my old clients contacting me to ask for my catering and food preparation services.

This loan is special because:

It supports a small business owner with 0%-interest, zero-fee capital.
